Are you feeling the Autumn vibes?

Something has definitely shifted over the past couple of weeks. The air is cooler, the mornings are darker. As we move towards Autumn this is a time for both taking in and letting go. A time to clear out the old and make way for the new. “Be like a tree and let the dead leaves drop” - Rumi. When we let go of what we no longer need we can use our energies to nourish ourselves.

Autumn time is more significant to me than the new year! I’ve been working on academic years most of my life, as a student, then a school teacher, then as a kids yoga teacher. This is the time of year that I often reasses and make changes. To clear out the clutter (mental or physical) and start planning new projects before the winter sets in and I want to hunker down and put everything to hibernate for a while. It’s an exciting time, but it is also challenging. Any letting go can lead to grief and sadness, we grieve for what we leave behind even when we know it was for the best.

So if you do make changes, do so with compassion. Go easy on yourself and treat yourself kindly. Act as if you were your own best friend.

It’s also easy at times of change to get swept away by it all, to lose sight of where you are heading or what your purpose is. In Autumn, try and stay grounded to avoid being carried off in the breeze. We can do this by eating warming foods (slow cooked soups and roast vegetables), go for gentle walks outside, take time to slow down, think about going to bed earlier or cosying up indoors.

Have you started to notice the seasons changing? Do you think of Autumn as a new start? What are your plans for the coming months?

SEPTEMBER NEWS

It’s been wonderful being back to work with people in real life and the in person classes are starting to fill up. I do still have spaces in most classes, so get in touch if you would like to join us or click here to book a class. As time goes on, my timetable will continue to evolve to suit your needs. I plan to continue offering online classes, and possibly hybrid classes for sometime, however some class times may change over the months as things settle down.

I have been working behind the scenes on my on demand memberships. Instead of a postnatal yoga course, the postnatal yoga content is now available through a monthly subscription directly from my website. Specifically designed to help you regain your core-strength, your figure and overall fitness after birth by restoring tone to the deep muscles of the pelvis and lower back, you can sign up for just £18 per month.

Finally, I am so excited to be hosting my first full day mini retreat this coming October. This day is all about nourishing. From nourishing yoga practices to nourishing food and a goody bag to take away to nourish the soul. Book your space by the end of September for a special eary bird rate of £65.
