Do you struggle to work out how to practice at home? Wonder which postures to include when time is limited? How can you work on your bigger poses without ending up exhausted for the rest of the day? If so, this workshop is for you.
Most of us don’t have the time or energy to practice a full Ashtanga series every day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t build a strong, effective, and transformative yoga practice.
In this 90-minute workshop we’ll explore how to practice when time is short, keeping the structure, energy, flow, and benefits of Ashtanga yoga without needing 90 minutes on the mat. You’ll learn how to build a practice that is supportive and sustainable, disciplined and consistent, without becoming overwhelming.
We’ll look at:
Creating yoga practices from 10 to 60 minutes that fit into daily life
Adapting your practice for different days, while still practising “everything”
Intelligent sequencing, which postures to choose for a well-rounded practice
Ways to save time and energy when practice time is precious
How to build a consistent routine
How much is enough?
Trusting yourself and taking charge of your own practice
You’ll be provided with handouts to take away, including some of my own short sequences, along with clear guidance on how to create practice sequences that work for you.

In the Ashtanga system we work with set sequences of postures, moving in rhythm with the breath. In this class you learn the Ashtanga practice 1:1 within a group setting, so I can make the practice relevant for each individual. All abilities, experiences, and bodies are welcomed and no prior knowledge of Ashtanga is needed to attend. Mysore style classes are flexible so you are welcome to arrive and leave anytime within the time-slot of a Mysore class.
If you are new to my classes I offer a 4 week trial for £20, see the new students page for more information.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga builds strength, stamina and flexibility whilst encouraging the focus to move inwards to settle the mind. In this class everyone moves together with detailed instructions on the postures and breath from the teacher. Most weeks this class will be based around the postures in primary series, you will soon become familiar with these postures and the sequence. The first Thursday of each month is now a 90 minute full led primary series, and will finish at 8pm

Have you been practicing Ashtanga yoga for a while and wonder what comes next? Want to explore beyond the primary series? The Ashtanga Intermediate series offers a different energy, new challenges, and a brand new set of postures to explore.
In this workshop we will start to explore this series step by step. Looking at the overall sequence and discussing the different sections and how they work together. Talking through why intermediate series feels so different to practice than primary. Highlighting key postures and linking them back to primary series.
Let’s remove some of the fear and mystery, and break down this series into approachable steps. Find your confidence as you step into something new.
This workshop is suitable for anyone with an established yoga practice. You don’t need to be able to ‘do’ every posture in primary series comfortably, but should feel comfortable moving through a primary series class.
Over the course of the sessions you will develop the tools you need to develop your own personal Ashtanga Yoga practice. In every class you will be guided through postures and breathing practices, plus given a chance to practice what you have learnt. Your practice will be built slowly and steadily week by week, with new postures added when you are ready, giving you a long term sustainable yoga practice designed just for you.
